Board farm online · early access

Real hardware tests for AI-written firmware.

Your agent writes the code and a test plan. Epitaxy flashes it onto a real MCU dev board, drives the pins, measures them with logic analyzers and scopes, and returns pass/fail with the captures.

30 free test-minutes. No card needed. Works with Claude Code, Cursor and any MCP client.

About

AI writes firmware fast. Nothing tells it whether the firmware works.

Unit tests and simulators stop at the chip boundary. Timing, peripherals, clocks, power and the real silicon's quirks only show up on hardware, and an agent has no bench.

Epitaxy is that bench, as an API. We run a farm of popular MCU dev boards, each wired to a shared instrument rig: a crosspoint switch, logic analyzer, scope, stimulus generator, current sense, and emulated peripherals (I²C sensors, UART modems). Your test plan says what to flash, what to drive and what to measure. You get a verdict per check, the numbers behind it, and the raw captures.

  • Flash and boot on real silicon; catch HardFaults, watchdog resets and boot loops.
  • Measure frequency, duty, pulse width and edge-to-edge latency on any wired pin (100 MS/s).
  • Decode UART, SPI and I²C traffic and match it against what you expect.
  • Emulate I²C sensors and UART peers so drivers talk to something real.
  • Read variables and registers through the debug probe; check console output.
  • Power-cycle and measure supply current; guard against shorts and contention.
How it works

From your agent to a scope trace in one call.

Connect over MCP, or call the API from Python or TypeScript in CI.

01

Write a test plan

JSON steps: flash, reset, drive pins, capture, decode, emulate a peripheral, check limits. Your agent can write it from the spec.

02

Submit firmware

We match the plan to a free board with the right wiring, flash it, and run every step on the shared rig.

03

Get the verdict

Pass/fail per check with measured values, console logs and logic captures to download, usually within a minute.

# one line: your agent gets list_boards, submit_test, wait_for_result, get_artifact …
claude mcp add --transport http epitaxy https://epitaxy.dev/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $EPITAXY_API_KEY"

# then just ask:
# "Build the blinky for the NUCLEO-F411RE and verify LED is 10 Hz, 50% duty on real hardware."

Pricing

Pay for station time, not seats.

A test-minute is one minute of a board and its instruments running your plan, billed per second (10 s minimum per job). Queue time is free.

Prices in USD. Subscriptions renew monthly and can be cancelled any time from your account page. Unused plan minutes carry over while you stay subscribed.
